Wave Rave Los Angeles
The client was Wave Rave Los Angeles in collaboration with South Bay Board Riders.
Wave Rave LA is a community-driven surf, skate and snowboard shop sponsoring this contest.
The Project
Design a contest poster that could function as both a promotional asset and a brand expression for the event. The artwork needed to work across digital platforms and printed materials, while also being adaptable for post-event merchandise.
The Approach
The design blends vintage surf aesthetics with bold typography to capture the laid-back energy of the event. The visual direction was inspired by classic surf posters, hand-drawn lettering, and warm, sun-washed color palettes, creating a nostalgic yet contemporary identity that reflected the local surf community.
The final poster was distributed across social media and produced as printed copies to promote the contest. After the event, the artwork was refined into a custom T-shirt, worn by contestants and spectators. This extended the visual identity beyond promotion and into wearable branding.
